It started with a visit to the Florence and the Uffizi Gallery. I was very keen on meeting Botticelli, that is getting stuck front of his work for hours. Then in the evening I made a watercolor "La Vénus de Poggioli" mixing the image of Venus with the surrouding landscape. [link]

After the trip in Italy, back home I used this outline to create "Ceci n'est pas l'automne" using nice italian oils (in particula "Terra di Siena"). This painting was also inspired by a visit to the new Magritte museum in Brussels. [link]

Then after posting the painting on deviantART, I checked who had a similar approach and found quite a lot of interesting artwork. The next step was to create the "Botticelli Fan Club" to create a collection of the best artwork based on the painting of this great master. [link]
